Press Release for Witchapalooza 2009
MAGIC COMES TO SACRAMENTO THIS FALL
SACRAMENTO, Ca. This fall, Cal Expo will bring magic to Northern California with the state’s first Witchapalooza festival. With classic characters coming to Sacramento such as King Arthur’s Merlin to the Wizard of Oz’s Wicked Witch of the West in an event that is poised to become one of the biggest fairs to hit California.
“I have always loved Halloween, the season, magical movies and the entertainment value”, explains LP & Me CEO and founder Laura Parkes. “I am a big Wizard of Oz fan, Wicked fan, Bewitched, Harry Potter, etc. I wanted to bring it all to life for everyone. This is going to be big. Really big!”
Parkes knows a thing or two about creating family-friendly amusements. She and her husband own and operate Western Water Features, one of the largest aquatic construction builders in the world, with attractions ranging from Geyser Falls in Mississippi to Raging Waters at Cal Expo.
“We have always been successful in the water amusement industry, but I never had the chance to really help shape the park or the guests experience after the rides were built. This is my chance to really bring a whole other world to life for people.”
With over 300 Northern California businesses participating and several major sponsors onboard, this year’s Witchapalooza festival will have something for all ages. With vendors, live entertainment, and thrill rides, there is guaranteed to be something for the entire community at Witchapalooza.
Witchapalooza will take place October 10th-11th at Cal Expo in Sacramento, Ca. Admission will be $5.00 for adult, and free to children under the age of 12. Local bands, theaters, artists, and entertainers will be free to spectators.
