Witchaplooza 2009 at Cal Expo in Sacramento is now officially over. This years Witchapalooza was an entertaining first year event. Our vendors were nothing less than amazing, many of them exceeded our expectations by helping our thin staff pull off a great event. You can follow this link for some pictures of this years event.

Those who came had a great time and it is easy to see the potential of future events bearing the Witchapalooza title. Witchapalooza is a fair based environment with a focus on fantasy, fun and an enjoyable atmosphere.

We truly appreciate all of those who participated in this event. To all of the great bands, the non profit organizations, hard working volunteers, and amazing vendors, we thank you for all of the hard work that you did.

The web site will be getting updates over the next few weeks in preperation for next years event. If you missed out on picking up some Witchapalooza merchandise at the event you can still pick some up in the Emporium.

You walk softy down the stone path before you, a sense of enchantment in the air.  You’re new here and you don’t quite know what to expect.  Your robe drapes over your shoulders, your hat shielding you from the sun above, and a cool breeze wisps gently across your face and signifies that the weekend of October 10th and 11th 2009 has arrived.  It dawns on you that this is Cal Expo in Sacramento- only, it has been transformed into a world where you are met with the smells and sites of the largest Enchanted Fair in Northern California.

“Welcome to Witchapalooza®.”  A voice echoes over the crowd.  A woman hands you a modern scroll which maps out the day and the different vendors you can find within the long street.  A list of upcoming activities, shows, and displays is before you.  Your eyes are drawn to the performance schedule for the Twilight Stage events.  It is packed with everything from plays and demonstrations to contests that catch your fancy.  The pleasant odors from the varieties of foods linger with you, all within reach at your fingertips.  Which to choose first is your most difficult question today.  Do you play one of the games and try your luck; do you wander the wares and buy a new outfit for your better half?  Perhaps you should grab a roasted Dragon’s leg or learn how to prepare your own potions and brews at home. 

“Don’t dwell too much on your choices,” an older gentleman in a wizard’s cap that has seen its fair share of travel answers your thoughts “take your time and enjoy it all.  For here, in this mystical realm you will find that time carries with it her own rules.  For the next two days the grounds of Cal Expo are for you and your kin to enjoy.  We have taken great steps to make this an enjoyable and safe trek for all who come to this place.”

You see, this weekend is special as the seasons change, the harvest comes in, and those who are enchanted, love those who are, or just wish to spend time enjoying themselves, converge upon these roads and enjoy all that her magical reign encompasses.”

Wide eyed, you approach the first booth, your palms sweaty with anticipation, you spy a small egg, you pick it up...

“Hey, are you daydreaming again?  What are you looking at?”  The familiar voice causes you to snap out of the visual and everything you just experienced.  So here you are now, staring at a monitor, sure that what you experienced wasn’t real.  Or was it?  Is it possible you were transported to a great festival that is coming to Cal Expo on October 10th and 11th that will be filled with fun, prizes, and an enjoyable time for the whole family?   What a simply refreshing change of pace that would be. 

So truly, welcome to Witchapalooza® or rather, welcome to the website that will tell you everything you need to know about the fair causing all the buzz, presented by LP & Me Inc.
